Kimberly Perry is back in the news again, for recently, she has broken up with her sibling band mates, dumped her first husband, remarried, moved to Nashville, released a solo album and had a baby. The baby boy arrived late in August (2023) and by all reports is doing fine. And if the quality of her latest musical release is any indication, Kimberly is doing fine, also.
Her most recent release is simply called "Bloom". At five songs, the new recording is short and sweet, but definitely not lacking in emotional depth. Perhaps sweet is too kind a word, for much of the content might could best be described as bittersweet. On "Bloom", one can listen, as Kimberly skillfully delves into the abundance of life experiences that have come her way in recent years.
One tune, If I Die Young, is a Band Perry standard, but the other four songs consists of new material that reflects deeply into her situation (expectant mother) at the time of writing. Currently, baby boomers are goin' out in great numbers, but Kimberly, who just turned 40, appears to be going strong. By the looks of things, fans of her music should be hearing more great things from her in years to come.
Included below is my favorite. It's just called "Ghosts".
