On May 24th, Tina Turner passed away at age 83. Ever since her kidney transplant in 2017, the legendary singer had been struggling with a series of health issues. Her last performance occurred in 2009, but over her many years on stage, Tina Turner had rightfully earned the title of the "Queen of Rock and Roll", most notably due to her reputation as a superb live performer.

Essentially, Tina had two musical careers. First, she had emerged as an energetic and charismatic singer for Ike Turner's groundbreaking band, The Kings of Rhythm. Then after parting ways with her husband of fourteen years, Tina launched her own solo "Comeback" career, which has become a legend of pop culture.

After a tumultuous marriage to Ike Turner, Tina divorced and went solo...and a legend was created. Her album, Private Dancer, which featured a huge hit single, "What's Love Got To Do With It", launched her second career that included movie appearances, numerous live concerts and a new marriage to German born, Erwin Bach, who has often been described as her star-crossed, soul mate. After becoming a Swiss citizen in 2013, Tina purchased the villa pictured below for a not-so-modest 76 million and then remained at the Swiss lakeside until her recent death.

Perhaps, Tina will best remembered for her rendition (along with Ike Turner and band) of "Proud Mary", a song written and first recorded by the Credence Clearwater Revival.
