Later in life, Jimmy Buffett became good friends with his distant "cousin", Warren.
The "Cousins"
On September 1, 2023, Jimmy Buffett died of skin cancer. The noted pop singer had known for years that he had a terminal illness, but kept the disease hidden from the public until he passed away a couple of years ago. Keep in mind that all the Covid-era videos, such as the one featured below, were done after his fatal diagnosis.
jimmy did a lot of remarkable things in his life, including his unlikely friendship with the venture capitalist, Warren Buffett. Besides sharing the same last name, the two entrepreneurs also shared a knack for making tons of money. Jimmy got rich penning songs, writing books and in genital promoting a laid-back subtropical lifestyle.
On the other hand, Warren amassed his fortune by playing Wall Street like a fiddle.. At the time of Jimmy's death, warren was such good friends with the Key West maestro that he was asked why he did not his good buddy's funeral. Warren replied that he was too busy mourning his own sister's death. Such is life (and death).
